The Map of MU/ Lemuria as shown, manifested the legendary supercontinent in contemporary with the Pangaea supercontinent during the Palaeozoic (Permian) Era and prior to the Permian-Triassic Extinction Event and the Continental Drift. The early inhabitants of Mu/Lemuria were a hermaphroditic race as narrated by the ancient knowledge of the B'laan Indigenous Tribe of Mindanao Island, Philippines and also by the ancient Greek philosopher Plato. The Lemurians in this era were silica-based and were once said to be highly Spiritual, profoundly in harmony with the Mother Planet, with Extra Sensory Perception abilities (such as telepathy and telekinesis of large objects), as our carbon-based mammalian ancestors shall arrive only in the later Cenozoic era.

The Permian-Triassic Extinction Event occurred about 250 Million years ago after a complex series of conflicts ensued between hermaphroditic Lemurians and another Alien race as narrated by Mindanao's B'laan Tribe and Plato, which resulted to genetic splicing of male-female genders, relegation, and the eventual involvement of another force, as narrated by Mindanao's Samal Genesis, by ancient Sumerians, and the interplanetary collision as interpreted by Sitchin and Velikovsky. I highly speculate that the catastrophic formation of the Asteroid Belt may have occurred during this era, which may partly explain the presence of carbonaceous component found in C-Type asteroids manifested during the planet's Carboniferous Period prior to the collision. The catastrophic Extinction event nearly extinguished almost all life during this era, also known as the Great Dying. Surviving Lemurians may have escaped deep underground, with fragments of the Lemurian continent still existing. Other species such as coelacanths, cockroaches, also survived.

The Continental Drift occurred and Pangaea gradually transformed into the present day continents to heal the "wound" that destroyed a large portion of the MU supercontinent caused by the collision, through the wonders of gravity by the "Planet's Core Consciousness" similar to how in microcosmic level spherical shaped water behaves in zero gravity. In this light, the Expanding Earth Theory should be debunked.

New species began appearing, which was further enriched by water from priori-Mars after its front surface was bombarded by fragments from the catastrophic collision, as narrated by Mindanao's Bagobo creation mythology and interpreted by Velikovsky (minus his erroneous timeline). The first mammals appeared (and later evolved into apes as our earlier Human ancestors) during the Triassic Period and flowers began appearing during the Cretaceous Period.

Mindanao's Bagobo mythology narrated Human creation (Earth Humanity being borne both from Evolution and Creation) as Cenozoic Era approached. The Philippine archipelago began forming through the geological process Subduction (mostly during the Cenozoic -Tertiary/Quaternary Period) as the remaining fragments of Lemuria ultimately sank about 22,600 years ago, with sunken remnant of a possible ancient Lemurian city eventually found in Yonaguni, Japan during the 20th Century.

Oral and written accounts passed down from generation to generation indicate that Samal Island used to be known as Pu, and has been inhabited by the Sama since time immemorial.

The Sama indigenous group is mistakenly thought to have originated from Mandaya, Mansaka, and Muslim groups. Samas insist, though, that they are a separate entity with distinct forms of music, art expression, and tribal rituals. Individuals used to be named after the living things around them, and each name was complemented with the term Samal, which served as their family name. For this reason, it was easy to identify the members of the tribe among the other indigenous groups in neighboring islands.

The Samal People have reasons to say so.

based on my personal research, Samal, or Pu indeed had a very long history. In the ancient of times it had been said the island was once inhabited by giants caled Dinagats. These giants were abusive for they would raid villages (most likely along mainland Davao) and steal, vandalize (like defecating on their kitchen), and kidnap women and made sex slaves. Babies out of such abuse that were born giants were assimilated, those that remained human-size were rejected and separated with the kidnapped women to be their slaves.

The humans, fed up with the abusive giants, gathered together to device ways on how to get rid of them. They decided to deceive the giants by sending them delectable foods laden on a small boat. the giants upon seeing the boat, surmised it as offering of submission by the tiny humans and that the humans had finally conceded to their "superiority." The food however, was laced with poison.

The Dinagats only allowed all their fellow giants to partake of the food and prohibited human-sized slaves and the kinapped women to partake of the feast whom they treated as inferior class. All the giants were ultimately killed, except for the human-sized slaves, now Free. Thus the survivors called themselves "Samal," which said to be meant as dregs, or left-over.

this contempt for such offense must have been borne from that tragic chapter of their legendary history.

However, there were indeed accounts of first-hand witnesses (local inhabitants, construction workers, treasure hunters) who discovered skeletal remains in Samal. Most of these discovered remains were stolen and unaccounted for. Even foreign scientists investigated the phenomenon. but mediocre nartional historical authorities (as they had, until recently, ignored the role of Mindanao legacy in mainstream history lessons ) outrightly dismissed these priceless gems of local history that could otherwise spell the difference to the dysfunctional state of this oligarch-dominated state and society.

Even the Sama's creation myth is very old, and eerily similar with the myths of the ancient Sumerians (Abraham's father was a Sumerian priest) supposedly the oldest civilization in the World, according to western historians that is.It was also intriguing that the bible mentioned about such giants most probably borrowed from Sumerian accounts, known as Nephilims, borne of angel (read: extraterrestrial) and human parents.

The ancient knowledge of the Bagobo Peoples of Davao and Mindanao, preserved and nurtured through the ages their ancient claim that Cibolan River of Apo Sandawa, was the cradle of Human civilization, SHALL BE VINDICATED.

I had discovred from personal research that the term "Cibolan," remembered just as our Bagobo brethrens said they would, by its scattered children from Negros to as far as the American continent by the Native Americans, was a word not even originating from the latter, but from the language of the Dravidians of southern India!

"Cibolan" comes from the Dravidian root words civ-pola, meaning "golden city" or "city of reds."

The ancient Laguna Copperplate Inscription revealed that our ancestors had used the ancient, old Javanese language of Kavi.

The mystery is finally revealed, the distant liink between the Native Americans of the American continent, the Bagobo People's of Southeast Asia, and ancient India of South Asia are finally meet and my personal research has turned full circle, through the ancient languages of the Sri Vijaya Empire, Kavi!

Been a long time since I last posted, having to be with a mediocritized society that put in position an incompetent oligarch puppet as national leader out of mudslinging, ignorance and hypocrisy can be so uninspiring. However, we shall go on.

This is what I discovered culled from personal research about the ancient land of Ophir and how I had it traced in our archipelagic islands, possibly in Mindanao.

During the bloody Crusades with the capture of Jerusalem by the Knights Templars on the 11th Century, the Knights while searching for relics from the ancient city discovered the treasure map of Solomon that detailed the location of the gold mines of biblical Ophir whose gold were said to be used in the building of Solomon's temple.

By the 14th Century the Templars, declining in influence with unsuccesful campaigns against the Muslim world and the recapturing of Jerusalem by the Turks in the 13th century, were persecuted by the King of France and the Pope and were eventually destroyed during the Inquisition, with their Grand Master Jacques de Molay burned at the stake on March, 1314 defiant to the end as to utter against those who wronged him, in which the Pope died a month later, and the French king died in a hunting accident before the year ended.

The surviving Knights Templars escaped, hiding with them treasures and the relic of the ancient map of Solomon discovered from Jerusalem hundreds of years ago. They traced the location of Ophir from Solomon's ancient map, and the European warriors ultimately arrived in the shores of this archipelagic islands, most likely somewhere in the Northeastern Mindanao in Butuan-Surigao area (about 200 years even before Magellan's fleet arrived (the illustrious navigator also held the first mass in Masao (Mazaua) , Butuan; some of the country's conventional historical beliefs biased to Luzon-Visayas are erronous and must be rectified, the first mass must have been held not in the Visayas but in MINDANAO)

In this land they buried their treasures with the aid of the Indigenous Peoples, their leaders known among the learned as Lemurian priests (some Templars who were left behind to guard the treasures later intermarried with their daughters), the treasures protected from greedy and vile hands even to this day by powerful deities of our pre-colonial ancestors known as Diwatas (better not be myopic when dealing with this, trash bigoted colonial biased paradigms down the bin!).

In my personal research I discovered that it amazingly fit like jigsaw puzzle as to my questions why some Indigenous Peoples esp. in Mindanao and Davao exhibit caucasian features, as well as clues to the unearthed excellently crafted antique pre-colonial gold jewelries dated 10th-13th Century (had been suspecting of European influence in its intricate details upon seeing it in the Ayala Museum in Makati) that were discovered also in Butuan-Surigao area in Mindanao.

Many years before I had heard that it was said the place where the gold used in Solomon's Temple came from Butuan area in Mindanao. At first it seemed preposterous and shrugged it off, until recently when my personal research (found the mainstream history education to be contemptuously incomplete) led me to this.

My post to an online forum entitled "If you have the chance, do you want to change your citizenship?" especially in an era where this country is beset by an incompetent presidency (whom I didn't vote anyway).

"I would rather change my perspective as MAHARLIKAN, not disregarding, but transcending beyond that of calling one's self as Filipino.

I have done personal research about it because the mainstream educational system in this country manipulated by oligarchic interest suppresses such knowledge, limiting the Filipino perspective merely in the colonial era because that was where the oligarchs gained their podium, unwittingly reducing instead the Filipino identity as susceptible to colonial mentality and reducing the country to its mediocre, unoriginal cultural state susceptible to oligarchic whims as manifested nowadays, even to the point of subliminally identifying their puppet president as P-NOY who manifested the ineptness, mediocrity associated with it.

The Maharlikan is the true embodiment of FREEDOM and the will to fight for it, and its ancient root is much deeper and more profound than perceiving one's self as Filipino that's traced merely in the colonial era. To be Maharlikan is to change, not just by name, but to bring change from within, awakening the ancient rootedness upon each individual in defining one's self in this part of our Planet."

Reposting my post from the facebook page "Change the name 'Philippines' to 'Maharlikan' " (with some revisions):

Kabayan, from my research I discovered that description on Maharlika was written according to Paul Morrow, which runs contradictory to my previous research that Maharlikans were actually "Freemen." The logic that he seem to try to impose was that Maharlikan's were less free citing they had to pay for their own weapons, which is flawed because it only showed that by principle, it proved they were not tied up to the Datus as they provide their weapons independently, and it was only a fitting relation that Datu's pay for their services, and vice versa, exposing that the foreign writer didn't grasp the "utang-na-loob" inherent in our culture. During times of war, it was more an honorable duty for a warrior to fight for his people and his Freedom, it's more profound than "bound to serve" obviously due to his lack of grasp with our culture of "Karangalan," and dismally mimicked it with shallow paradigm on commercialism.

There also seemed a systematic attempt to erase this integral part of our ancient identity as Free People i.e. Maharlikan by whoever these ulterior forces are. Most generations of students today were not even aware of the word "Maharlika" and it showed the mainstream education system of this country is being infiltrated by those who prefer to keep our people merely subservient and hypnotized to inferior colonial mentality.

It was later that I discovered that Maharlikans were also warriors taken from the word MAHARLOKA," meaning GREAT LAND, one of the ancient subcontinent of LEMURIA and the most powerful of them, for it was also a warrior nation, and our archipelago islands were remnants of this Great Nation many, many millennia ago.

The MAHARLIKANS shall once again awaken MAHARLOKA, our GREAT LAND.

refuting an erroneous description

I am reposting my comment (with some additions) on a facebook discussion board refuting an article that described the word Maharlika according to Paul Morrow. It merely reflected his lack of grasp as to the inherent local culture that only locals could comprehend more than what he was merely taught of. Definitely for the sake of ethics he should not impose his foreign viewpoints to innate local perspectives as it will only expose its limitation. Here is his attempted portrayal:

Maharlika – Members of the Tagalog warrior class known as maharlika had the same rights and responsibilities as the timawa, but in times of war they were bound to serve their datu in battle. They had to arm themselves at their own expense, but they did get to keep the loot they won – or stole, depending on which side of the transaction you want to look at. Although they were partly related to the nobility, the maharlikas were technically less free than the timawas because they could not leave a datu’s service without first hosting a large public feast and paying the datu between 6 and 18 pesos in gold – a large sum in those days.

However, I strongly believe his viewpoints that attempted to portray the Maharlikan were ridiculously erroneous:

"I believe the description of Maharlika in this article is inaccurate,
most likely a foreigner, the writer merely attempts to tailor fit his
pespective about the ancient social system of the Nation by relating it
with some kind of 20th century western capitalist society. Even in
ancient Japan, unlike the present 20th century society, warriors were
definitely of higher rank than merchants, who were even considered less
than their peasant subjects.

To portray the Maharlikan as "less free" than the Timawa is an utter contradiction as the Maharlikan warrior fights for his freedom and for his people. His gesture of respect for the Maginoo was to keep pace with the social order, the fact that the Maharlikan armed himself at his expense proved his sense of noble independence and not necessarily bounded to a master, although, just as the rest of the community he honored higher ranks or the elderly with respect (hence the word "opo, po"), and vice versa.

The subjective portrayal of the Maharlikan bounded to "pay" or host a
large feast seems the foreign writer being unaware of the unwritten code of ethics on generosity of our ancestors and our culture, for even in the present a Pinoy traveler is expected to bring in some "pasalubong," or may even race with each other as who pays first for his/her companion on a jeepney ride.

The modern Maharlikan pledges allegiance to no one but for for HUMANITY and for FREEDOM."

awaken, Maharlikan Warrior

During my research about Maharlika, there awakened in me an innate knowledge of martial arts that suddenly sprang up! Previously, I had not been particular about martial arts even up to early last year and neither did I have interest of it back then, yet it seemed I already knew about it, like some DNA data in me being triggered by the word MAHARLIKA, like a mantra. It had awakened about late last year. Presently I'm with a local group that is into Kali or Arnis , our nation's ancient martial arts because I observed that the moves that was awakened in me was similar to it.

Here are further proofs that will reconfirm my "Ric Vil Hori's Cibolan Theory" that supports the claim of the Bagobo Peoples, one of our indigenous tribes here in Davao, Mindanao that supposedly ALL of the World's tribes originated from Cibolan River in the foothills of Mt. Apo, Davao through my theory in fusing it with the lost continent of MU, or Lemuria, the linking of the legendary lost city of Cibola among American Indian tribes, and fitting other pieces of the puzzle.

The discovery of a submerged, ancient city in Yonaguni, Japan that showed striking similarity with the ancient ruins of American Indian cities, even replete with an awesome, mysterious stone-etched image of a human face with feather head gear!

HISTORY CHANNEL: JAPAN'S MYSTERIOUS PYRAMIDS

The natural geological movement of Earth's crust in the Pacific area, the original site of the sunken continent of MU, is continually moving between the underwater mountain ranges of the East Pacific Ridge down to the Marianas Trench, the ocean's deepest part in a process known as Subduction, at a rate of about 3 inches a year, and had been doing so for millions of years. The crust is continually dragged down into the Marianas Trench at the edge of the Philippine tectonic plate as the moving crust goes deeper into the mantle (which may partly explain the sinking of the ancient MU continent), causing magma to rise into the surface and thus forming volcanic islands. But the rising islands of the presently known Philippines, especially Mt. Apo in the island of Mindanao were large enough to possibly host survivors of this ancient tragedy, and on its foothills the beautiful, mysterious river of Cibolan so venerated by the Bagobo peoples claimed to be the origin of ALL tribes (possibly remaining survivors of the ancient sunken continent of MU) in the World!

This was actually my post on another thread discussing about my blog 'Did ancient humanity originated from the foothills of Mt. Apo?!?

I have been contemplating....

based on my definitely unconventional research. in the ancient times when less advanced natives would definitely see the scientific technologies of today as "miracles" when transported to their space-time era, the ancient natives would then consider its highly advanced proponents as "gods," hence the creation of religions.

It was observed that, especially among ancient cities and locations, there existed grid patterns that correlate with each other such that these patterns would actually be 'visible' once viewed relative to the scope of the planet, or seen from above the heavens. Examples would be the ancient Sumerian cities relative to each other, the alignment of Angkor Wat (highly considered to be the capital city of Sri-Vijayan empire in which our archipelago islands were once part of), Teotihuacan in Mexico and the pyramids of Egypt relative to star system Sirius, as well as the famous Nazca lines.

It would also be interesting to note that the platform in Jerusalem from where once stood Solomon's temple, and presently the Dome of the Rock, actually was very old and existed even before the biblical Hebrews invaded its original inhabitants. By definitely unconventional assumptions, this platform, in the same manner as the Ziggurats or pyramids had its own ancient mysterious functions, was said to be remnant of a (gasp) ancient SPACEPORT!

The fame of Jerusalem may actually be due to its ancient importance as the SPACEPORT of the "gods" or Elohim!

There were rumors of Davao being the "new Jerusalem". in the light of my personal researches revealing the very important role of Davao that would definitely bring huge impact once revealed to the rest of Humanity (my research would definitely strengthen the Out of Sundaland theory as to the origin of pre-colonial Filipinos), as well as certain, 'less mediocre' individuals such as amdg and others who saw the vision, and relative the coming future Technologies, this is my prediction:

I predict that in the coming brighter future, Davao, in the light of revelations from my personal quest as to its profound role in the hidden history of Humanity (that obviously the present mainstream pathetic colonial mentality-induced educational system in this country didn't do much part, yet) would be the next, not just internationally, but interstellar and even intergalactic(!) Future cosmopolitan (there's more to what this means!) Capital City of Humanity, its dubbing as the "new Jerusalem" by certain individuals would actually mean, in more understandable technological terms: my beloved Planet's NEW INTERGALACTIC SPACEPORT!

Yes! Yes! and lemme' predict it too, the spaceport may be practically located in, er, Sasa- Panacan area (chuckle)!

of Davao's Cibolan River, American Indians, and "Golden City"

Down south of the sprawling, modern-day city of Davao, near a famous brewery factory, the body of water that the Bagobo's so venerated in their historical legacy (see other blog), Cibolan River laid melodiously across the bridge along a concrete national highway. Its (threatened) crystal-clear waters continually gush among stone boulders as it did for thousands of years, seemingly ambivalent in the midst of modernity that had crept upon it with pedestrians and motorists criss-crossing naively and in some occasions ringing with the laughter of local children enjoying its waters.

However, Cibolan River (presently known as Sibulan) was not much known among the recent generations of locals for its profound role as narrated by the Bagobo peoples. Instead, it is presently caught in controversy between opposing hydropower
and water utility companies fighting for its water resources. Other than these, the typical locals knew not much of the river except for water tubing adventures and scenic trails for their mainstream history lessons never told them about it.

Today, I exchanged IM's (instant message) with another fellow from pinoyexchange.com thread. He provided links about the topic we had been discussing and the word "Cibola" got my attention. then it led me to the probable link between Cibolan River, that intriguingly led me to the American Indians, particularly with the Aztecs, with their legendary "golden city" of Cibola, the fabled city that Spanish conquistador Cortez attempted to seek but never found, immortalized by Edgar Allan Poe as the "El Dorado," and the ancient continent of MU!

The word "Cibola" made me recall what the ancient Bagobo narrative had stated:

"So two by two the children of the first couple left the land of their birth. In the place where each settled a new people developed, and thus it came about that all the tribes in the world received their names from things that the people carried out of Cibolan, or from the places where they settled."

The Bagobos could be right! From Mt. Apo in Davao, Mindanao and across the vast Pacific Ocean, in the America's, the ancient American Indians may have remembered their olden ancestry just as the Bagobo's had mentioned! They still remembered the ancient name of Cibolan that the Bagobo's implied where they originated, and were somehow "right" in claiming the fabled place was located north of Mexico for referring to the recent map of legendary MU, its portion in the America's were once connected to the north of Mexico!

Here now is the connection that the fabled seven gold cities or the seven islands of Cibola (supposedly traced back to the islands Java, Sumatra, Borneo, Celebes, Philippines, New Guinea and the Malay Peninsula that were said to be remnants of the lost continent of MU), so awesome in legendary fame from among the native American Indians, may be linked with the legendary continent of MU and its ancient legacy remembered by the name of the ancient Cibolan River in the foothills of Mt. Apo, Davao that sprang from the tumultous chapter of the sinking of the ancient continent, and from the remnant island of Mindanao the Cibolan River emerged that the Bagobo's claimed ALL of the World's tribes (American Indians included!) originated and whose name their offsprings would still remember, and they did!

The name Cibola was said to be originated from the Dravidan word civ-pola, meaning "golden city" or "city of reds."

"Golden City" is one of the many names of ancient Lemuria!

Cibolan River may have been named to remind of the ancient motherland of MU (Lemuria)!

My Maharlikan prediction in retaliation against a forumer who consistently attacked my views in a topix.net forum but, intriguingly he's not even a Filipino or Fil-Am! Smells fishy. Maybe someone whose suckery will soon be threatened by the reawakening of the Maharlikan individual, for such individual will no longer claim himself/herself in a name like mantra seemingly synonymous with: "We are proud 2nd class subjects of colonial invaders! We are proud second class subjects of colonial invaders, We are proud..." Duh.

I am a fiercely independent (minded) person and I always will be. I still abide by my views and I am able to defend it. I am not surprised at at all at the reactions of some people here that only hinted their mediocrity, and convincing such kinds is the LEAST of my priorities.

There are individuals however, distinct and openminded as they may be, who are beyond the years of the typical closeminded hoards and able to grasp what I have perceived. My views are so beyond the grasp of the MEDIOCRE. There will come a time when the detractors will eat their words, but to partake of the dawn of the light I foresee they will be proven WRONG and I will perceive those who attempted to discourage and drag me down as NOT WORTH my effort.

The site that I recently discovered and posted in the previous blog had actually answered once held questions in my quest for personal research, that obviously the mainstream educational system in this country would deem too insufficient to provide.

This actually answered my personal question about the claim that the Templars may have arrived in our islands, even before the Spanish colonizers came. But there indeed existed factions within these secret societies, so indeed we must remain in constant vigilance from differentiating the "good guys" from the "bad guys." The Templars, as it was mentioned above, carried the treasures in their fleet of ship and it occured shortly "before their order was wiped out," that was before the tragic year 1307. Definitely they may had also instilled Christianity, and a much older version at that, among the indigenous peoples prior to the arrival of Spanish colonizers in 1521!

It also further concretize that the islands, especially ancient Mindanao may have been known by the Templars since ancient times as they had in their possession documents from Solomon's court that further provided clue with the claim that ancient Mindanao may actually be the fabled sources of Solomon's gold known as the land of Ophir! It also linked up with the documentary film by the Probe Team Gintong Pamana about discoveries of excellently crafted pre-colonial gold artifacts in Surigao. Witnessing the sheer quality of those intricate artifacts by our ancestors would indeed spread throughout the ancient world for excellent craftsmanship!

There is a very intriguing link I discovered during my personal research. It seemed plucked out straight from some fantastic fantasy or scifi story, and yet it claimed itself so part of this very physical dimension.

It seemed to blur one's boundary between fantasy and reality, as if with glaring conviction that the usual clich'e that "Fact is stranger than fiction" rings true once again.
And it involves this country and its people.
It seemed to provide answers to one's long unanswered questions in a package fantasticaly presented with gold wrappers and strings, yet at the same time the package opens up to far more mysteriously profound dimensions that can leave the receiver, awestruck.

It reminded me of a phrase from my poem "Questions," that such answers are like questions waiting to unfold.

Explaining this to someone who is not familiar with my personal story and the articles I have written for the last 12 years, is not going to be an easy task.

If Casper had asked this question a few years ago, I would have started my answer by explaining who Faction Two is, where they came from and what they have been doing for the last 100 or so years.

However, over the last 12 years I have learned a lot, and in the last few months, it has come to my attention that the origins of Faction Two go back FAR longer than I had ever imagined. They go back to ancient times where they are still veiled in mystery.

He was an Admiral in the German Navy and the head of their department of Military Intelligence, known as the Abwehr, Admiral Wilhelm Canaris. Canaris is best known for being the brains behind the assassination attempt of Adolf Hitler.

During WWII Admiral Canaris made a trip from Berlin to Spain every two weeks. These trips are written about in a book called The Canaris Conspiracy. What was omitted from the book was the stop in Switzerland to pick up tons of Austrian gold. The gold was taken to Spain where it was loaded onto German submarines and taken to Paraguay. In 1955 the gold was moved to the Philippines.

I wrote the following article to explain to people where the opposition to the New World Order came from:

Perhaps it would be a revelation to take a second look at the origin mythology of the Bagobo peoples, and with this, based on on the probable map shown by a certain society on Lemuria, the presence of Mt. Apo must have possibly helped in surviving a portion of ancient Lemuria. It should also be noted that Mt. Apo is home to some endemic flora and fauna species originally found only in the area, such as the orchid Waling-waling and the Philippine Eagle. Having trekked to Mt. Apo years ago, I did notice something strange because thousands of feet above sea level there was actually an intriguing spot where white sands similar to those found in the beaches abound, and so do limestone boulders. these may imply that many many years ago, a portion of the majestic peak may have risen from the seas.

I have also noticed among the Bagobo peoples, they were an intriguing mix of features, for other than the usual Malay look, some of them did manifest Caucasian phyical characteristics. The late mayor of Davao City during the 70's or 80's (I actually met him when I was a kid, and I remembered fully well his countenance), Mayor Elias Lopez was actually a Bagobo but he had seemingly caucasian features also, tall and light skinned. I did inquire with a Bagobo househelp about the caucasian features of some of their peoples and she replied "they (ancestors) were the original natives." When I saw her mother, she also featured light skin tone in contrast to her dark tone. Perhaps it may have something to do with the relation between genetic evolution and Consciousness. Among the indigenous peoples of Mindanao, one actually notices varied mix of ethnic features and could identify the brown, white, black ethnicity from among them. Individuals from the anthropological and historical fields from the country (just make sure not the usual local mediocre lackeys and apers for foreign interest) or from Asia and even from around the world, should give great attention regarding these, especially with the myth of origin by the Bagobo peoples and its possible link with ancient Sundaland, or Mu. Who knows, the discovery may hold clues to the missing key as to the origin of the world's tribes, and it's right over here.

Regarding the black race, I also made personal research and the ancient Sumerians narrated in detail their origin in south Africa and its relation to gold mines (there were recent discoveries of mining artifacts dated hundreds of thousands of years). I once read a little information that the ancient black peoples revolted from their slavery against the "gods." However, I believe the theory on Lemuria may still be very much older in scope.

This may seem a prequel to the previous blog that I posted, albeit with an even more fantastic twist, and a far larger scale at that.

Scenic Mt. Apo is the country's highest peak, majestically towering over the vast expanse of the southern tip of Mindanao island bordering over the mountainous edges of Davao City. However, the ancient narratives of an indigenous people that lived along its mountain ranges, the Bagobo tribe (they also named the peak, which means "grand old man"), bespeak about a fantastic claim that ALL of Humanity's tribes supposedly originated from the foothills of this majestic peak!

In the beginning there lived one man and one woman, Toglai and Toglibon. Their first children were a boy and a girl. When they were old enough, the boy and the girl went far away across the waters seeking a good place to live in. Nothing more was heard of them until their children, the Spaniards and Americans, came back. After the first boy and girl left, other children were born to the couple; but they all remained at Cibolan on Mount Apo with their parents, until Toglai and Toglibon died and became spirits. Soon after that there came a great drought which lasted for three years. All the waters dried up, so that there were no rivers, and no plants could live.

"Surely," said the people, "Manama is punishing us, and we must go elsewhere to find food and a place to dwell in."

So they started out. Two went in the direction of the sunset, carrying with them stones from Cibolan River. After a long journey they reached a place where were broad fields of cogon grass and an abundance of water, and there they made their home. Their children still live in that place and are called Magindanau, because of the stones which the couple carried when they left Cibolan.

Two children of Toglai and Toglibon went to the south, seeking a home, and they carried with them women's baskets (baraan). When they found a good spot, they settled down. Their descendants, still dwelling at that place, are called Baraan or Bilaan, because of the women's baskets.

So two by two the children of the first couple left the land of their birth. In the place where each settled a new people developed, and thus it came about that all the tribes in the world received their names from things that the people carried out of Cibolan, or from the places where they settled.

All the children left Mount Apo save two (a boy and a girl), whom hunger and thirst had made too weak to travel. One day when they were about to die the boy crawled out to the field to see if there was one living thing, and to his surprise he found a stalk of sugarcane growing lustily. He eagerly cut it, and enough water came out to refresh him and his sister until the rains came. Because of this, their children are called Bagobo.

The question may sound preposterous even from among locals here, furthermore exacerbated by their mainstream education on history unwittingly patterned after previous colonial-based systems that will least likely hint of such otherwise locally rooted but ancient phenomenon, having been very dependent on Western-biased sources and interests rather than that of the East or this country's.

Ridiculous it may seem to be, for how could "obscure" Mindanao from among more than seven thousand clusters of archipelago islands, in a country so miniscule to compare with other huge land masses and countries of this planet, would dare claim what could have been a very important role in the forgotten annals of Humanity's history?

Or so it seemed. Unless one puts the ace on the table; unless one considers this very ancient, lost continent into the picture that existed hundreds of thousands of years ago, but forgotten or deliberately supressed to a supposed "modern" but unknowing society.

According to ancient narratives and documents, there once existed a very powerful continent known as the land of MU, or Lemuria. Much older than the West's legendary Atlantis or the biblical garden of Eden (an account that comparably turned out to be among the most recent), ancient Lemuria once stretched 5000 miles long and 3000 miles wide somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, with a population that was said to reach 63 Million people over 200,000 years ago. Its peoples were a noble, highly advanced civilization adept at telepathy, astral travel, teleportation, until its eventual demise, and based on my personal research, partly caused by alien interference (the Greek historian Plato and another Mindanao indigenous tribe, the Bilaan also narrated accounts of the said phenomenon). The ancient ancestors of great civilizations of ancient Egypt (with more probability of later connection with Atlantis) and the Meso-Americas such as the Mayas, were even said to be refugees of this great, lost continent that may hold clue as to the similarities of Asians with American Indians and Eskimos. In the image provided, the sketch that featured the probable location of Lemuria showed that Mt. Apo in Mindanao that the Bagobo peoples claimed where the names of all the world's tribes originated may be on the edged part of the ancient legendary continent. It had been said that the eventual disintegration of Lemuria transpired over a period of many thousands of years, with the final destruction that occured about 10,700 years before that of Atlantis, or about 22,600 years ago.

The Bagobo mythology also predicted that the lost children will return back to their place of origin. As mentioned in my previous blog, "Did the nation's ancient history originate from Southern Mindanao?", the early wave of settlers from Southeast Asia eventually arrived in Southern Mindanao about 500 AD, which through the years were followed by the arrival of other races from as far as Europe, America, and from other continents occuring even up to the present.

Here is a shining, and literally so, presentation produced by the Probe Team, a local video documentary show, entitled Gintong Pamana (Golden Heritage) about the discovery of excellent gold artifacts and jewelries dating from 10th to 13th century in Surigao, Mindanao island, in what could be one of the most important, tangible heritage not just of this country, which for decades had been groping in the dark as to the legacies of pre-colonial history, but in Asia as well that could rewrite history like never before.

This may also be the a glittering evidence mentioned from my previous blog, of spices and empires, that indeed this nation was once a place renowned in the ancient times for its unusual abundance of gold mentioned from the account of ancient Greeks (known as Chryse, the Golden One), Indians (Suvarnadvipa, Islands of Gold), Chinese (Chin-chou , Isle of Gold, Lusung Dao or "Luzon daw"), and even in biblical account to the court of King Solomon (Ophir)!

Even the Spanish historian who sailed with Magellan's expedition, Pigafetta, exclaimed that gold in the islands were so abundant that just a simple dig could produce gold nuggets the size of walnuts. The sudden disappearance of such treasures upon the arrival of colonizers were enigmatic, but the discovery of the Surigao gold artifacts provided clue that unlike ancient mainstream practices, the natives of these islands buried their gold even when the owners were yet alive (and in connection with previous discussions, sought the aid of their anitos or Elemental deities for safeguarding of such treasures from vile agendas, a practice that mainstream "modern" paradigms exacerbated by bigotry may not comprehend as to the reality it once held in the lives of these ancient, prosperous ancestors).

The whole documentary is generally presented in the local language, Tagalog. Even for foreigners who may not understand the tongue, witnessing the sheer excellence, intricate craftsmanship, priceless historical value, almost ethereal quality of the ancient golden artifacts may still leave anybody speechless.

One of the advantages of participating on internet forums is having to meet with likeminded individuals, or even opposite minded ones but both with grit to discuss specific topics that otherwise one may not likely discourse with people in one's limited geographic location.

Internet forums now enable to meet individuals to share ideas despite the distance, be it from this country or from other nationalities enabling wider exchange and broader insights of topics.

From these forums I gained insights about this country's pre-colonial history from individuals who dared to think beyond the mediocrity and timidity surrounding them. Neither can one find such insights from this country's mainstream educational system, infamously inept in providing in-depth knowledge especially pertaining to pre-colonial eras, that had unwittingly patterned its curriculum instead after its Spanish colonizer, then eventually other foreign interests, inevitably weakening its rootedness as a nation and succumbing to inferior colonial mindset among its constituents.

It had been said (with mention to forumer albertus magnus) that the inhabitants of pre-colonial Philippines may actually be the last bastion of the fusion between two prominent Southeast Asian empires, the Sri-Vijayan and Majapahit Empires. In my opinion, these may partly explain why the pre-colonial inhabitants display a seemingly unusual profusion of gold jewelries. So widespread were the use of these precious metals that even slaves wore gold ornaments, and otherwise ordinary utensils such as combs were said to be made of shining gold. It seemed intriguing whether ancient Southeast Asian peoples during those times had such habit of displaying abundant extravagance among its mainstream constituents, but least likely may be the case. Perhaps this profusion of wealth could partly explain that the inhabitants of this country may indeed be remnants of the fusion between those once mighty and prosperous empires.

The Sri Vijayan Empire existed between 7th -14th AD while the Majapahit Empire in the years 1293-1500. Although both empires were based in present day Indonesia (Sri Vijaya being traced in the island of Sumatra with its capital city Palembang, and the Majapahit Empire in Java island), a phenomenon may have occured that eventually pushed the empire to the archipelagic islands in its last remaining days.

The kingdoms of Southeast Asia once played a very vital role in the lucrative spice trade routes that brought within the empire vast prosperity. Most likely, the rapid spread of a foreign religion, Islam in most of the mainland areas eventually pushed the empire's staunch inhabitants that refused to convert to Islam, and neither surrendering their wealth, to the edges of its trade routes, in the cluster of archipelago islands beyond the seas. As the Islamic empire ultimately succeeded at blocking the lucrative spice trade routes to the Christian West, the latter was obliged to find an alternative route to the East that eventually led it to these archipelago islands, the present day Philippines, unwittingly named after its colonizer.

The vast wealth accumulated by the empire was said to be safely hidden secretly underground (to be guarded until a more deserving generation will partake of it) even with the aid of the ancient ancestors' deities of higher dimensional plane such as nature spirits or the Diwatas (knowledge of such entities together with other vestiges of pre-colonial culture were supressed and destroyed by the colonizers with its religious bigotry and political grip, and even by its present lackey of an educational system) to keep it away from foreign invaders that began with the Spanish explorers that eventually colonized the islands.

It had been said that a fraction of these wealth were exposed during the tumultous event in Philippines history during the time of deposed president Marcos, in which the legendary Yamashita treasures were said to be part of it. Some of the alleged "Marcos wealth" that were exposed upon their exile were even unaccounted for by the Marcoses themselves, as if appearing out of somewhere.

reconsidering Maharlika

Here is an intriguing essay by Rodil Rodis of Inquirer on renaming the country as Maharlika:

'Maharlika' Reconsidered

Reader response to my column about a name change for the Philippines was phenomenal. From Mindanao, Kauban M. wrote that Moros prefer Maharlika as “it is the name suited to our culture and character.” A local reader, Joseph Vizcarra, also liked Maharlika “because it pays honor to the advanced indigenous civilization we had before the coming of the Spaniards. It also betrays our Hindu roots as well as blood links with the rest of the Austronesian family. On top of this we would all be called Maharlikans!”

Many readers pointed out that our Moro brothers and sisters in Mindanao and Sulu despise the names “Philippines” and “Filipinos” because of their colonial stigma. Moro scholar Alunan C. Glang asserted that only those who were subjugated by Spain and bowed to the authority of King Felipe II should be called “Filipinos.” Since the Moros were never Spanish subjects, they were never “Filipinos”. In fact, for 350 years, generations of Moros had spilled blood precisely to avoid becoming “Filipinos.” Those unable to resist becoming Filipinos were regularly subjected to "Moro Moro" plays with the Spaniards as the heroes and the Moros as the dastardly villains.

While the Spaniards named their farthest-flung colony “Filipinas,” they did not call its inhabitants “Filipinos.” The people were called “indios.” Those who were pure full-blooded Spaniards from Spain were called “peninsulares.” Those with even a one percent drop of native or non-Spanish blood were contemptuously referred to as “insulares” or “Filipinos.” Historically, “Filipino” was used as a pejorative or had a discriminatory connotation attached to it. (Ironically, even now, to be a “Filipina” in England and other countries is to be a “domestic helper.”)

By the 18th century, a new class had emerged, a mixture of upper class indios and lower class insulares, propelled by indio intermarriage with the Chinese. (The Spaniards decreed that no Chinese man could leave the Parian, the Chinese community just outside Intramuros, unless he was married to an indio woman). This new class was the ilustrado class and one of them, an 18-year old boy named Jose Rizal, was the first to use “Filipino” to refer to indio . In his 1879 poem, “A la Juventud Filipina” (To the Filipino Youth), Rizal challenged the Filipino indio youth to be the hope of the motherland. Even though they were not “insulares,” Rizal and his classmates at the Ateneo considered themselves “Filipinos”

When Rizal went to Spain to study, he exhorted his fellow ilustrados to take pride in being an “indio.” In fact, he called his group “Indios Bravos.” Rizal and other ilustrados in Spain would later propagate the view that “Filipino” should mean all people born in the islands, not just the insulares.

This was not universally accepted. Andres Bonifacio, the founder of the Katipunan, referred to the country as “Katagalugan” and the Katipunan’s Cartilla, written and published in 1896, expressly stated: “The word tagalog means all those born in this archipelago; therefore, though visayan, ilocano, pampango, etc., they are all tagalogs.”

As Nathan Quimpo points out, “the Philippine Revolution of 1896 was a misnomer” as it began as the Katagalugan Revolution. “It became the Philippine Revolution only in 1897 when Emilio Aguinaldo, the former gobernadorcillo (mayor) of Kawit, ousted Bonifacio from the helm of the revolutionary movement and had him executed. Aguinaldo, who had continued all along to use Filipinas, dropped Katagalugan.”

At the Malolos Congress in October of 1898, Aguinaldo sought to establish a federation with the Moro sultanates of Mindanao and Sulu, recognizing that they were not yet part of the nation that was being forged in Malolos.

In 1913, Katipunan General Artemio Ricarte proposed that the Philippines be renamed “Rizaline Islands” and Filipinos, “Rizalines.” While in exile in Japan, Ricarte drafted a constitution for the “revolutionary government of the Rizaline Republic.”

There would be no serious effort to change the name of the country until 1971 when a new constitution was drafted and ratified. Article XVI, Section 2 states that "The Congress, may by law, adopt a new name for the country…which shall be truly reflective and symbolic of the ideals, history, and traditions of the people.”

After Ferdinand Marcos declared martial law in 1972, he convened an Interim Batasang Pambansa to replace the Congress that he had abolished by presidential decree. One of the representatives appointed by Marcos was “Kuya Eddie”Ilarde, a popular TV-radio personality from the 60s and 70s, who sponsored a parliamentary bill on August 14, 1978 seeking to change the name of the Philippines to Maharlika.

Unfortunately for Ilarde, Maharlika was inexorably linked to Marcos who claimed that it was the name of the guerilla unit he formed and led in WW II. It turned out to be a hoax along with his claim that he was the most decorated soldier of WW II.

(Before his claim was exposed, Marcos had gotten his cronies to produce a Hollywood movie entitled “Maharlika” about his alleged war exploits. A Hollywood starlet named Dovie Beams played an American nurse who became the love interest of the fictional Marcos. What was supposed to only be reel became real when “Lovey Dovie” became Marcos’s mistress.)

The term “Filipino nationalism” is a contradiction in terms. To be a nationalist is to be anti-colonial. “Nationalism,” declared Sen. Claro M. I had posted a forum at www.topix.com discussing about renaming the country as MAHARLIKA.

The forum had been ongoing for more than 2 and a half years as of this writing, and individuals both Filipinos and of other nationalities had contributed their opinions regarding the matter.

Recently, there were discussions to create a systematic plan about changing the name of the country, as proposed by forumer bornleader from India who outlined the initial steps. It is good that likeminded individuals have conglomerated through the forum.

I envision that the advocacy towards Maharlika shall go beyond the renaming of the Philippines, but rather would encompass even other countries, especially India, and other mainland nations like Thailand, etc. From my research I discovered that there occured an era when a once very powerful, legendary 'lost' continent existed along these geographical areas, in the same manner as the West had inculcated the legendary Atlantis as narrated by the Greek historian Plato. Among the countries that existed in this vey powerful continent, was the most powerful nation of them all, and this nation comprised both the modern countries of India and the now slave-mentality christened Philippines.

This legendary Asian continent I had referred to, may prove to be much older than Plato's account. Thus, it may not be surprising that even individuals from India expressed interest, for they had documented and preserved these olden treasures in their ancient texts. Bornleader's views regarding the link confirmed my previous research that indeed there existed this glorious Era that once spanned in the secret ages, but seemingly had been endangered and supressed to oblivion. However, these legendary accounts of lost continents, of secret knowledge, of great legends must be supported with tangible facts, and it will occur for these had been held, protected, and had survived. The profound legacy of this treasured history promises greater perspectives of the Maharlikan's once great and noble Past towards a Future far more greater than his/her Present could yet imagine.

Soon, this legacy will be reawakened, and will change the course of history and empower the Maharlikan towards a more exciting Future where once dreams, visions, hopes will fruition into a great Maharlikan Reality.

Finally, I have found a more, er, convenient way to know about the Hindu classic Epic, the Mahabharata, where else but through, uh, http://www.youtube.com.

I once encountered the Masterpiece that inspired nations and creeds for centuries and millennia, while browsing in a secondhand bookstore. I could still vividly recall the impact of its profound presence amid those shelves of human endeavors. The sheer size of the books however, excacerbated by its awesome number of volumes had left me aghast. Reading though all those vast pages seemed too 'overwhelming' even to contemplate.

Thanks to the individual who downloaded these videos through youtube, the typical mortal on the street is transported back to the eon ages as one glimpses a seeming part of him/her in the ancient era of Indian civilization, back to the olden city of Hastinapur. Here one encounters Bhishma (also known as Dyaus), Krishna and the seeming, eerie similarity of his life and teachings with Jesus more than three millennia before his birth; it also portrayed the noble and heroic Pandava brothers and their common fiery wife Draupadi, the cunning and treachery of Shakuni and Duryodhan and the aftermath the great war of Kurukshetra from where narrated the classic masterpiece Bahagavad Gita.

Here one observes the Power of the Human Phenomenon amid his/her strength and weaknesses, which I found profoundly and intellectually refreshing to compare with imposed conventionalities that instead portrayed the human seemingly likened to an unknowing sheep.

Never mind the mediocre quality of the film, the dull cinematography, or the clumsy acting. Brace instead the profoundness of its ageless message that simply transcend beyond the film's shortcomings as it confounds one's bigotry, awakenes the dormancy, and speaks through one's very own Human soul.

Brace also the sheer length of it. It composed more than 90 episodes approximately averaging 43-45 minutes each. (As of this writing, I'm still in the episode 70's.).

I once discoursed with a Datu (the head of an indigenous tribe) somewhere in the ranges of Mt. Kitanglad (Mindanao island's highest peak next to Davao's Mt. Apo) who revealed to me that the reason it made them easier to convert to Christianity was due to its similarity with the ancient religion that their ancestors had once practiced centuries ago.

He narrated that like Christianity, their olden religion also believed in Trinity of the Godhead. Amazingly, they also believed of their God-Son who, like the Christian's Jesus, also performed miracles, suffered and died, and ultimately resurrected.

The remarkable parallelism was confirmed when I did my personal research years later on the creation of the Christian doctrine by the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD during the reign of Rome's Constantine the Great. For the Council, the Roman emperor ordered the best and brightest intellectuals from around the known world to draft the Christian doctrine that became the creed of mainstream Christian Church even up to the present. It revealed that the life of the historical Jesus was a fusion of other major religious figures, which incorporated with it the virgin birth, slaughter of innocents, miracles, suffering and death, resurrection from the narratives of the Egyptian deity Mithra and the Hindu god Krishna who lived thousands of years before the first Christian churches were built. This actually shattered conventional paradigms especially of fanatical Christian fundamentalism.

It may instead be possible that more ancient narratives had been preserved by Mindanao's indigenous tribes that dated back with the olden religious figures, and tracing its links, possibly originated with the deity Krishna of ancient India who reincarnated as a human and once lived around 3228 BC as narrated by the Hindu Epic, the Mahabharata.

Years ago, I told our househeld helper who belonged to one of the indigenous tribes of Davao, that I met a European friend who has been inventing a futuristic spacedrive vehicle with a technology that literally lets the car "float." It was far from a naive conversation for I had been doing personal research and some of my sources revealed that in the ancient of days, there were indeed eras when such level of advancement did occur prior to Humanity's downfall into lower dimension, and then its supression and eventual loss of such knowledge from among the unknowing mainstream. I surmised that the indigenous peoples of Mindanao with their culture and legacy that survived (and still thrives) for centuries, may actually be preserving knowledge about these forgotten eras, unlike what conventional history books inform to the supposed "modern" society.

Her face somehow lit up, not out of surprise but rather out of seeming familiarity, and she replied in vernacular (paraphrased): "Ingon ana man ang ginasakyan sa among mga katigulangan 'tong unang panahon (That's what our ancestors drove during ancient times)." Actually, I half-expected her reply. The knowledge must have been reserved only for her tribe and not intended, for the meantime, for those outside who may mock or ridicule such knowledge due to ignorance of the once grandiose, but long forgotten past. She desisted from further sharing details about it when I inquired again, and I let her be.

From my research, ancient texts and narratives did mention about these otherwise highly advanced contraptions. In the Vedic literature of India (considered to be the oldest of all indian texts), these flying machines were even detailed into two categories, those that were manmade crafts that resembled airplanes, and those mysterious crafts not generally made by humans, and were identified into at least four different types replete with detailed descriptions. These were called the vimana.

The vimana had intrigued me, for I suspected that some temples from mainland Asia whom our Maharlikan ancestors originated from, seemed to be shaped like a sort of 'rocket' launching into space. Observe these temple images from India and Thailand and notice the eerie similarity with that of the soaring vimana above:

My researches about the country's past was partly culled from personal requirement for the composition of some of my science fiction stories. It gives personal proof and inspiration to my endeavors. Another is through the mentoring of my inventor friend from a small country in Europe. We established rapport since year 2000, and since then had been in communication for about 9 years now. He has prepared the blueprint for a vehicle that I considered my ideal 'dream car,' a futuristic contraption capable of 'levitation' by magnetic propulsion thereby using, virtually, "free energy". It was from him that I noticed firsthand attempts at deliberately supressing ideas and technologies like his by the political agenda of the vile opposite force. I vowed to be an 'internet activist' and confront those forces that supressed my otherwise quaint dream car with advocacies through internet forums and chatrooms, and witnessed the drastic stirring of world politics unfold before me, as intended.

The legacy of his nation's Viking heritage still managed to thrive with more preserved ancient insights to compare with other European places, although we both shared sentiments about threats to such legacies from infiltrating influences to our countries. I have noticed that his country's history had similarity with ours, being seafarers, especially with the Maharlikans, and even in contemporary in time as to the early stages in the creation of our nations.

Mystery of Mindanao vases and ancient hermaphrodite ancestors

This article from the column "Bisag Unsa" written by multi-awarded historian and writer, Prof. Macario Tiu for MindaViews, narrated some interesting insights about the theories as to the origin of the anthropomorphic figures found in Southern Mindanao, specifically in Sarangani Province. He also narrated about a very intriguing creation mythology of the Blaan, one among many indigenous groups fluorishing and preserving their ancient culture for centuries in the hills and mountains of Mindanao, about the very ancient humans who used to be hermaphroditic, i.e. having both male and female organs. The myth about this very olden ancestry was also mentioned by the Greek philosopher Plato in one of his writings. Based on my personal research, Mindanao's Blaan mythology especially pertaining to hermaphroditic ancestry, may actually be one of the most ancient accounts of human origins, in fact more ancient than the Sumerian mythology, considering the Sumerians were known as the most ancient of civilizations in the known world.

Sa akong pagtuo, kining karaang mitos nagpamatuod nga ang mga Blaan dunay tradisyon nga tighimog tawo gikan sa kulonong yuta. Sa usa ka bersyon sa ilang mitos, gimando sa Diwata nga tipigan nila ang ilang buhok tungod kay mao kini ang materyal nga gamiton sa pagpasanay sa ilang kaliwat. Aha, sa hunahuna ko pa, mao diay nga gihatagan nilag espesyal nga atensyon ang buhok sa ilang hulmag-tawong banga. Ilang gibuslot-buslotan ang ulo sa ilang hulmag-tawong banga! Ug busa mihukom ko nga mga Blaan ang naghimo sa mga banga sa Maitum.

Taudtaod na sab ko nga nakig-interaksyon sa mga Tboli apan ang akong nasayran sa ilang binaba nga literatura (oral literature) mao ang ilang bayaning si Tod Bulol ug ang iyang kabayo nga si Kaunting. Dihang mipokus ko sa ilang mitos sa pagmugna sa tawo, dako ang akong sorpresa dihang akong nasayran nga susama diay silag estorya sa mga Blaan! Sumala sa usa ka bersyon sa Tboli, ang naghimo sa unang tawo gikan sa kulonong yuta mao sila si Hyuwe ug Sedekwe! Sama sa bersyon sa Blaan, naglalis sab ni silang duha mahitungod sa pagpahimutang sa ilong ug kinatawo. Kamatikdan nga halos susamag ngalan kining mga tighimog tawo, si Hyuwe sa Tboli, Fyuwe sa Blaan; ug Sedekwe sa Tboli, Sawe sa Blaan.

Girebyu nako ang gilangkobang teritoryo sa mga Tboli. Gikan sa mga interbyu ug karaang dokumento sama sa taho sa mga katsilang pari kaniadto, akong napamatud-an nga mga Tboli ang netibung tribu nga nagpuyo liyok ug luyo sa Maitum. Dihang nabasa nako nga ang mga Tboli nagapraktis og tamblang – ang paglimbas sa ngipon ug bangkil aron motupong ang tanang ngipon – akong gisusi ang mga retrato sa mga antigong hulmag-tawong banga ug nakita nako nga kadtong nagngisi morag tupong og mga ngipon! Miswak na sab sa akong teyoriya.

Ang hinungdan nganong tupongon sa mga Tboli ang ilang mga ngipon mao nga gusto nilang ipanaglahi ang ilang kaugalingon isip tawo gikan sa mga hayop nga bangkilan. Karaang praktis nila ni nga dili na ginasunod sa mga bag-ong tubo. Unya, akong gisusi ang mga tawong pigurin nga bronse nga gihimo sa mga Tboli karon, ug akong namatikdan nga kadaghanan, kondili man tanan, nagnganga, morag gusto nilang ipakita ang ilang mga ngipon. Did the Nation's ancient history originate from Southern Mindanao?

The country's mainstream history lessons vaguely narrate about its people's ancestry dated to as far as 50,000 BC. The remains of a skull cap was discovered however, in the Tabon caves of Palawan and was carbon dated at about 22,000 BC. Centuries later, waves of migrants with their swift wooden boats called 'balangays' (from which came the basic government unit termed as "barangay") then settled in the archipelagic islands where they established small towns and colonies. But informations relative to these were not as preserved, owing to the fact that most of the legacies were destroyed due to religious bigotry exhibited by Spanish colonizers who arrived by the 16th century.

More extensive informations however, were made available primarily from documents by the colonizers and from whose sources most of the country's conscious history had based itself. In the Filipino psyche the making of the nation's history were mostly dependent on Spanish documents, and conventional national consciousness dictated that the nation's extensive history began in the islands of Visayas and Luzon (although some historians argue that first mass held between the locals and the Spanish explorers began somewhere in Masau, Butuan in Mindanao and not in Limasaua, Leyte in the Visayas).

Still, the country's pre-colonial history remained vague. However, there were research that among the earliest migrants, a wave of settlers had arrived in the southern shores of Mindanao, in present day Palembang, Sultan Kudarat (ironically, Palembang was also the name of ancient Sri-Vijayan Empire's capital city based in Sumatra, Indonesia) from as early as 500 AD. From there the early peoples spread towards the whole of the island. It was only later that other waves of migrants arrived in other parts of Visayas and Luzon during the 11th and 13th century by small groups that resisted the Islam faith and political systems of the mainlands, or seeking freedom and better sustenance.

However, the history of Southern Mindanao may even be much older than that. As if plucked out from myths and legends, old tales narrate of ancient tribes of giants known as Dinagats that once lived in Samal island that now faces the modern city of Davao, south of Mindanao. Except that these enigmatic, extinct race were neither myths or legends, for archeological evidences and skeletal excavations were documented even by foreign French and German scientists, and local resarchers as well, and even by construction workers. Despite an otherwise gem of history that any self-respecting nation would have treasured, these did not register much to the national consciousness, probably because some mediocre Filipino historians and closeminded academicians bluntly stifled it off.

The giants were eventually eliminated through poisoning by neighboring groups (they drifted a raft filled with delectable food) in retaliation for their misdeeds (which the giants mistook as offerings in submission to their 'superiority'), for the giants would often raid and steal from these villages, and kidnap their women. Some children borne out of it retained the gargantuan features and they were assimilated with the tribe, while those borne of small stature were given less attention and segregated with the women. These however, proved fatal for the giants as they were the only ones allowed to feast on the poisoned food. Eventually the giants died, leaving only the smaller people as survivors. To differentiate from the giant Dinagats, they called themselves Samal, meaning "leftovers" or "dregs."

These giant races had been mentioned in Biblical passages and known as "Nephilims," or by more historical sources, from the documents of the Sumerians, the most ancient of civilizations in Post-Deluvian human history that were once based in present day Iraq and dated to as far as 6000 BC but mysteriously vanished about 2000 BC. It should also be noted that the creation mythology of the Samals was intriguingly similar with that of the ancient Sumerians.

The giants were known to be hybrid offsprings, being borne out from the union of "gods" and humans. there were also other giant skeletal remains excavated in many parts of the world such as the Euphrates Valleys and in Europe.

A few days ago, I noticed considerable increase of readership in the blog that prodded me to trace its origins. I discovered that most of these came from surfers around the world who typed in search engines the word, "maharlikan." It seemed unusual since many of the researchers didn't come from the country, until I found a recent article about Manny Pacquiao entitled "Is Pacquiao a Symbol of the Return of the Maharlikan?" by Gareth Davies of telegraph.co.uk. It is most likely this article that prodded world curiosity about the term Maharlikan.

Here is an excerpt:
"The Philippines has lost the essence of being a true Maharlikan nation. Long before the Spanish conquered the island [and renamed it after the Spanish royal Felipe] the Maharlikans were a great nation. The spirit of the Maharlikan was imbued with a sense of royalty, and one of divinity. Manny has that parallel in his life. He has the truism of a real national hero."

Incidentally, among the individuals interviewed by Mr. Gareth was Mr. Granville Ampong, editor and publisher of the Maharlikan Times, and he was the first to post comment in this blog. It's an honor indeed, Sir.

Manny Pacquiao has become a household name in this country. So endeared was Manny that he was given such titles as "Pambansang Kamao" (National Fist) and became the first Filipino boxer to be printed on postage stamps. it is even written in the country's law that the Army will go to Pacquiao's aid in the event of danger to his family.

Manny's early life was one of hard poverty that his family even lived in dwelling made of cardboard boxes. Manny's mother raised the future hero with belief in God and at first wanted him to be a priest. A crucial event happened in Manny's life one day when he brought home a stray dog. Enraged, his drunk father cooked and ate the stray dog to punish him. Horrified, Manny packed his bags and stowed away in a boat bound for Manila, about 500 miles from his home in Southern Mindanao. From then on, he has continually made unprecedented mark in world boxing history.

Arakan, Burma

In Burma (presently known as Myanmar), there is a place called Arakan. Among its inhabitants were an indigenous tribe known as "Mon." The other name for these people are "Talaing."

In Marilog, Davao City, a vantage roadside overlooks a scenic, panoramic landscape known, "coincidentaly," as the Arakan Valley. It is a municipality of North Cotabato that borders the city. Many indigenous and migrant inhabitants settle in the area. Among them were the tribes known, also "coincidentaly," as "Talaingod," which means "mountain people" and a sub-group of the Ata-Manobo tribe that inhabit the Arakan Valley. A certain municipality in nearby Davao del Norte was also known as Talaingod.

There are discussions as to the origin of the word Arakan. in Burma, it was locally known as Rakhine, and among its versions the possibility that it originated from Rakkhapura meaning the people of Rakhasa in honor of preservation of national heritage or ethics. The Arakan Valley in North Cotabato, Mindanao was supposedly derived from the Manobo words "Ara," which means abundance of resources, and "Kan" that means bravery, valor, and also referring to one of the rivers of the valley.

I recently discovered that the Sumerian artifact posted from the previous blog was the image of the Sumerian goddess Inanna.

Inanna, according to Sumerian account was given dominion over the Indus Valley region (now presently located in Pakistan, but the region had been very prominent in ancient Hindu narratives). Akkadians and Babylonians called her Ishtar. In ancient times she was addressed as Queen of Heaven. Although she was not considered a "mother goddess," she headed a long line of female deities identified with feritlity of the natural world. The Babylonians however, call Ishtar as "High-Mother-Goddess."

Could it be possible that the Tagalog words Ina and the Visayan Inahan, which means "mother," originated from the Sumerian goddess Inanna?

enigmatic Samal

Even for locals living in Davao City, nearby Samal (that's only about 7 minute ride by barge from the mainland) is an island now gradualy revealing not just her beauty, but also her mystery. It is a paradise-like island we thought we knew. We thought the island was just the next byword for tourism destination owing to its pristine beaches with even some areas having powdery white sand so fine that its shore could diffuse heat of the tropical sun as one walks over it, an island of breathtaking sceneries and unspoilt wonders that Davao region hopes to keep that way while balancing with progress. Just a few years ago, it was also discovered that the island's batcave shelters the world's largest fruit bat colony (Geoffrey's Rousette species). It turned out there's even more to the island.

From my recent personal research posted in the previous blog, enigmatic Samal may also have one of the country's oldest history, with its rich past even inhabited by legendary giants of yore (well, not necessary "legend," there were actual discoveries of giant skeletal remains that unfortunately were looted or neglected, add up the Philippines authorities' lack of enthusiasm in archiving these otherwise valuable legacies).

It also made me recall of another enigmatic religious group in Samal, the Moncadistas. They are a religious colony known for their tradition of eating uncooked and raw food with no fish or meat. The group was founded by Hilario Camino Moncado (1898-1956). At nine years of age, he graduated with honors from the College of Mystery and Psychics in Calcutta, India. During earlier times, many of the group's male members sported long hairs and beards. The Moncadistas are known to be peaceful and law-abiding citizens.

Another personal observation that I tend to notice while in Samal, were the local dogs, yup, the local canines. Unlike their counterparts in the mainland, it seemed that most local dogs in Samal do not have the habit of barking at strangers. Perhaps it was due to the geographical confines of the island, but I least expected that even these creatures could create a " canine culture" that is uniquely Samal. I wonder if other visitors had noticed it too.

It makes one wonder, even with locals, what enigmatic character would this beautiful island reveal next.

I read before in a newspaper article that some of the earliest settlers in the country arrived in the shores of Southern Mindanao and landed particularly in the present municipality of Palembang, Sultan Kudarat (Palembang was also the name of the capital city of the ancient Sri-Vijayan empire based in Sumatra, Indonesia)sometime in the 5th century. This was somehow reconfirmed by this report that I read a while ago wherein stolen artifacts were discovered that could lead to a lost tribe:

However, I find the faces of these anthropomorphic artifact intriguing:

Not surprisingly, I had once read about the creation mythology of another indigenous group, the Samal tribe in Davao hours away from the find but still south of Mindanao, having similarity with the creation mythology of the ancient Sumerians. Ancient stories also narrate about a certain giant race known as the "Dinagat" that once inhabited Samal Island. But these giants were rude and bullying, and would often raid neighboring mainland villages, stealing and violating their women. The giants were eventually eliminated by the opressed villagers by drifting a boatload of poisoned food, in retaliation for their offenses. Skeletal remains of these giants were said to be discovered in some parts of the island, but some of these were looted through the years. These reminded of the biblical giants of yore that were offsprings of nephilims, part 'god' and part humans. It is evident that biblical accounts borrowed their sources from ancient Sumerian knowledge.

The Sumerians were considered to be the oldest yet strangely advanced civilization that existed in the Fertile crescent (present day areas in Iraq) during the post-deluvian era (after the Flood). The father of biblical Abraham (his name was changed from Abram after converting to monotheism, supposedly from the Sanskrit word "Brahma") was a Sumerian priest. The Sumerian civilization mysteriously vanished thousands of years ago.

Chances are if you're Pinoy na tisoy (slang for spanish word mestizo, or of mixed lineage) with Spanish blood, your great, great and great grandfather may be a terrible invader of, what else but the magnificent, mighty, ancient city of Rome. They were known as the Visigoths.

As Roman historians claimed, this dreadful, hideous, wandering tribe entered the formidable walls of the great city between the years 408-410 AD. The horrible "barbarians" pillaged and looted the once mighty capital of its wealth and splendour. According to them, that was. But heck, the credibility of some of the paid hacks may as well be compared to the puppet corporate media of today that duped you to non-existent WMD's for the oil blessings war. At least though, they didn't mention much about raping and grudgingly admitted that the "barbarians" murdered, but just a little bit.

Obviously, history classes at school didn't mention everything either. The root of the historical conflict may be probed due to the corrupt and unreliable Roman leaders of that time. For many years the Visigoths waited for the promise of Rome to give them land in exchange for the service of fighting against a common barbaric enemy, the Huns. But corruption, prejudice and the unfulfilled promise caused much resentment among the Visigoths who finally threatened to lay siege to Rome. The Visigoth king, Alaric I, an admirer of the city's magnificence, made ways to avoid destroying it by agreeing to withdraw upon payments of gold and silver. When the exiled emperor, Honorius, refused to sign the treaty, Alaric I demanded the surrender of Rome and the terrified inhabitants opened its gates (courtesy of Visigoth 'slaves'). He then appointed another emperor for Rome, but the bloke ruled so badly. Amazingly, Alaric I decided to restore Honorius, but the emperor's barbarian chief treacherously attacked Alaric, which proved unsuccesful. The angered Visigoth King finally laid siege to Rome, and, after the previously botched attempt at appointing another individual, crowned himself and sat at the emperor's throne (parang si Bonifacio).

Curiously, Alaric I made clear his command to spare the Christian churches. Modern historians theorize that the Visigoths may not necessarily be "barbarians" as the olden Roman historians wanted people to believe, but rather they may be a Christianized tribe that had to deal with a decaying and corrupt Roman Empire.

Eventually, the Visigoths proceeded westwards and created a powerful Kingdom with boundaries that stretched into what are now the modern regions of France, and, the home of the country's colonizers, Spain.

Being skeptical may be beneficial, but it remains to be seen whether one has enough discernment amidst the hoaxes, the fragility of the truth would be noticed and preserved when the valuable moment finally comes. In this case, especially in this country with a naive people subliminally manipulated to servitude of outside 'masters' seen or otherwise, so obviously glaring by name of country itself yet they do not even notice it, the lack of discernment could result to destroying and loosing certain fragile truth such that the damage could be tragically wasted like pearl thrown to a pig stye.

The issue does not rely whether you or I believed it or not when such mysteries in the universe will always exist and extend and it will always be there in the great vastness that starkly contrasts arrogant but myopic, narrowminded opinions like tiny irrelevant speck.

A poster commented on his/her professor who mentioned that Maharlikan meant royal blood. I believe however, that Maharlika is a state of mind.

I believe being Maharlikan is a state of mind dahil sa Sanskrit na maha lekha na ibig sabihin ay Noble Creation or Great Effort. Matindi kasi ang Sanskrit, ang quality nito ay maihahambing sa Greek at Latin na malalim ang definition ng mga salita.

Ang kinaiinisan ko lang bakit ang mga educational institutions ng bansang ito hindi gaanong nag research sa pre-colonial history ng bayan. Kaya pala when compared to other countries' universities palaging kulelat sa quality, kahit magaling pa kuno sa ingles. Kasi sa ibang bansa tinuturuan sila on building their very own countries, strengthening its culture, fostering its creativity as a nation. Eh dito sa Pilipinas tinuturuan lang how to be efficient commodities for the economic machinery at dinidisregard ang pagpapalakas sa kultura natin bilang isang bayan at palaging naka inculcate sa mga estudyante to serve efficiently the foreign masters, and that the struggle against them only results to futility. Eh karamihan nga hindi marunong mag appreciate ng Art sa nation building. Kaya kahit yang mga premiere schools pa ipinagmamalaki ninyo, kulelat pa rin mga yan to compare with other countries' educational institutions (kahit hindi magaling mag-ingles mga teachers) pagdating sa survey kasi sa kanila they empower their very own countries, unlike dito sa pinas. The Cold War Era back in the 70's and 80's was a time of turmoil and conflict in the country. The despised dictator ruling the Philippines, protected by alien interest as most 3rd world despots during those times were, wielded with iron hand against an unruly people, where civil disobedience was deemed fashionable as a way to combat the rise of his unholy powers and of his cronies, in the same manner that they deemed it fashionable to ape the culture of outside influences while trashing their very own.

But then, it seemed not everything he did was dictated straight from alien devils. The dictator sponsored the International Rice Research Institute that experts unanimously agreed had actually helped resolve the threat of worlwide food shortage during that time. Many countries actually benefited from it, and its headquarters still stood proudly in the ricefields of Laguna, Philippines. Except that, ironically, at this very moment, the host country itself is actually experiencing an acute rice crisis with blasphemous prices, courtesy of alien multi-national corporations with their sky-rocketing costs for chemical-laced fertilizer and pesticide products (for decades they managed to suppress and humiliate the advocates for organic farming over hybrid rice that rely heavily on their chemical products), criminal rice hoarders, and inept land conversion policies. And this is long after the dictator was kicked out of the country. Strange, Makes one wonder who the devils turned out to be.

The dictator, it turned out, also happened to have enough foresight over the rest of the hollywood-enthralled masses. He attempted to make a move to change the country's name from the glaringly obvious, colonial undertoned "Philippines" into the noble "Maharlika." With its invaluable benefit at inculcating nationalism and strengthening the psyche of an otherwise strife-torn country thanks to alien meddling, double-whammied with its own weakened identity, it was a move not just to empower himself, but the rest of his countrymen as well.

But, the people too embittered with hardships and atrocities committed against them courtesy of worlwide manipulation by alien interests like the CIA (you mean, up to now you still didn't get it ?!?!), immediately held him suspect, convincing it a ploy for selfish aggrandizement.

The most destructive damage done against the movement to rename the country came from a supoposedly Filipino academic "scholar". Re-echoed by a puppet corporate media (Time Magazine, 19 June 1989) to give weight to its "credibility" in the mindset of puppeteered hoardes, the supposed "scholar" convinced the gullible that Maharlika stemmed from the Sanskrit word maha lingam, which means "great phallus." Deeming it fashionable to disobey the alien supported dictator, the rest sucked up to it hook-line-and-sinker, no questions asked.

That was before the Internet Era. Research any Sanskrit dictionary search engines today and you will discover that Maharlika may have originated from the words Maha Lekha, in which Maha means "great, noble," and Lekha, meaning "work, creation, writing." Even the Tagalog language also incorporated it with "likha", which means 'create'.

The use of Internet had virtually exposed the "scholar" to be the usual crab-minded dork for the otherwise irreparable damage he had done, and the 'credibility' of that magazine should be held in question.

Ask anybody from what term Maharlika would come close into, whether maha lekha (great work, noble creation) or maha lingam (great phallus) and idiocy will unanimously choose the latter.

And the Philippines remained named up to this day, still brittle in its divisive state, lacking in national pride while the rest of its Asian neighbors race in stride with their much nourished cultural legacies (and Filipinos had the gall to wonder why).

Filipinos have chosen to be named as they are, as colonial 'Alipin' to invisible alien masters, glaringly gullible to the puppeteer's invisible strings, rather than as a free people, rather than as Maharlikans.

The word "Philippines" came from the name of a Spanish King, Philip II. In 1543 the explorer Ruy Lopez de Villalobos coined the term by referring to this archipelagic cluster of islands as "Las Islas Filipinas" (Philip's Islands) in deference (perhaps even with affection) to the child heir of Spain's reigning monarch at that time, King Charles.

Hence, from the name of King Philip II, the word "Philippines" came into being.

Wasn't it a relief for the unquestioning subjects that King Charles did not name his son as "Procopio."

I remembered back in history classes, during otherwise boring lectures about Manila-centric colonial past, defeated battle heroes, and a poem hinting about Filipinos being hostages to an uncertain future, a certain topic jolted me out from stealing a nap in the middle of an afernoon lecture under a hot tropical sun (to this day, I remained baffled why some school administrators see to it that history classes be held right smack during siesta time, as if to instigate a personal revolt in the name of one’s body clock). The lecture classified the early pre-colonial society of native Malayan ancestors as the Datu (the ruling elite), the Alipin (in a stroke of seeming sophistication, these were further classified into aliping sagigilid who served and lived in their masters’ houses for a lifetime, and the aliping namamahay who served for a certain time and also independently owned houses. Then, there was the Maharlika.

The Maharlika was a freeman. Perhaps he was freed from the bondage of his previous master, perhaps he fought his way in becoming one, or he must have, as most of our Malay ancestors did, crossed the wide perilous seas on a swift and sleek outrigged boat called balangay and dashed away for freedom towards an archipelagic cluster of islands far in the outskirt of the Pacific Ocean in which his confused, colonial brainwashed, culturally clueless, art unappreciative, advertising puppeteered offsprings now called – the Philippines.

I will decide to go against the flow of mediocrity and decadence prevalent in this naive society. Even if need be, I can choose to travel alone and not fear solitude, but I will never be lonely. I am with the stars and the stars with me, just as the Maharlika must have felt when he gazed on them as he escaped with his balangay with nothing but the vast ocean in his midst, in the name of freedom. I will do the seemingly formidabe and daunting task, i.e. free oneself. And since decades of Americanized education resulted to seeming proficiency in using the English language, I will call myself Maharlikan.
